The Group’s Treasury operations in Bahrain and London incorporate all the components essential to successful treasury management – innovative services, leading-edge technology, quality execution and resources.

KFH’s treasury management unit in Bahrain coordinates the Group’s proprietary trading and the provision of a wide range of products and services for a customer base including regional and local banks, corporates, institutions and high-net-worth investors. These services include the quoting and trading of all major currencies including Gulf and regional currencies, deposits in all major currencies for all maturity periods, structured deposit accounts and foreign exchange service. We manage global profit rate risk on behalf of corporates and other large investment institutions and quote forward rate agreements, profit rate swaps, profit rate caps, collars and floors.

In London, the KFH PLC Treasury & Investments team finance and manage the liquidity, profit rate and foreign exchange risk generated by the UK bank’s core activities. In addition, the department is responsible for the UK’s principal investment portfolio; comprising a high quality Sukuk portfolio and select Private Equity investments.

A strong focus is maintained on cash and regulatory liquidity, ensuring the entity comfortably meets its funding needs whilst adhering to progressive regulatory liquidity and capital standards.

The investment portfolio provides an additional diversified source of Shariah compliant income and is also integral to the bank’s liquidity management due to the inclusion of High-Quality Liquid Assets (HQLA) qualifying assets in the portfolio, among other regulatory investments.

The UK maintains the highest standards of market best practice and adherence to best execution policies, while observing all local regulatory requirements.
